FORELIMB PROSTHESIS

A prosthesis is a device designed to replace all or part of a limb or other body part. The amputation can be the result of a trauma or a disease (cancer, etc.). A prosthesis can also compensate for a malformation or a congenital anomaly (prenatal origin)
When a prosthesis replaces a limb or a part of it, the animal regains a more adequate and normal locomotion, thus increasing its autonomy and comfort. In addition, the prosthesis reduces the strain on other healthy limbs, reduces compensations, and promotes a certain realignment of the body, thus helping to avoid injuries to the shoulders, wrists, knees, ankles, back, etc. in the medium to long term. The use of a prosthesis by the animal may also reduce its energy expenditure and muscular fatigue during gait and his activities.
